Supporting your health and wellbeing is incredibly important to us.
We have put in place a range of support mechanisms and advice below to help you to maintain all aspects of your health and wellbeing – as well as resources to support you should you need to reach out in difficult times.
Colleagues working in healthcare across Derby and Derbyshire also have access to the services provided by Joined Up Care Derbyshire Wellbeing. The services include an activity timetable packed full of workshops, workouts, and sessions to aid all aspects of your wellbeing.

Health Assured – Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
This EAP provides a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits for colleagues, including access to a 24/7 confidential helpline, counselling sessions, financial support, legal information, bereavement support, medical advice, and more.
In addition to the telephone support, Health Assured has introduced a digital programme of wellbeing support called the Wisdom App. This app offers features such as health tracking, personalised wellbeing plans, wellbeing challenges, yoga videos, guided meditations, fitness workouts, informative articles and webinars, healthy recipes, podcasts, and discounts. Colleagues can also access counselling support through the app, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and menopause support.

Occupational Health
Your health and wellbeing is incredibly important to us. As an employee, you can access a number of Occupational Health services including:
- Management referrals
- Employee self-referrals
- Counselling and support
- Flu vaccinations
- Health and wellbeing advice
- A 24/7 confidential telephone employee assistance service
Managing attendance – Your Attendance Matters policy
The aim of the Your Attendance Matters policy is to help the ICB make the most of the employee attendance by reducing both short and long-term absence.
This is achieved through promoting positive attitudes to work and effectively working in partnership with all parties. Consideration will be given to the individual circumstances of each employee when applying the Your Attendance Matters policy.

Special leave
Our special leave policy supports colleagues in balancing work and personal responsibilities by providing time off for domestic emergencies, serious illness or death of close ones, medical appointments, public duties, religious activities, volunteer forces, and inclement weather.
Mental health first-aiders
Mental Health First Aiders are a point of contact if you, or someone you are concerned about, are experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. They are not therapists or psychiatrist but they can give you initial support and signpost you to appropriate help if required.

Joined Up Care Derbyshire Wellbeing Timetable
The Joined Up Care Derbyshire Wellbeing Service provides a comprehensive timetable of activities and groups to support all aspects of your health and wellbeing.
These include:
- Support groups: including bereavement, menopause, men’s health and more.
- Desk yoga stretches: join in with useful stretches to do at your desk to boost your circulation and keep mobile
- Fitness yoga: strengthen, mobilise and Stretch your entire body with these low impact relaxed moves
- Legs, bums and tums: a short blast to tone the legs, hips and abs! Great if you’ve been more sedentary recently!
- Zumba: Dance yourself fit with these fun routines working your whole body and releasing trapped tension. A feel good workout!
